It's not that I'm on vacation. And it's not that I think vacations are bad.. everyone needs them.
I'm guessing a good chunk of the NBC folks who decide things are not in their offices at 30 Rock this week. July Sweeps are over, August and early September schedules are set, all of the premiere work starts in mid-September..
If I had 2 or 3 weeks of vacation and worked for NBC, I would be anyplace other than Manhattan right now. And since seniority gets to pick vacation dates first, the choicest weeks would go to the top folks at any company.
So, don't expect to see any major announcements today. If anything, we'll get a ping from the people remaining to show everyone they WERE there.
