NBC Getting Bad Press From NYC Newspapers

Perhaps some @ 30 Rock should learn not to take everything personally.  Otherwise, stories like this and those in the NY Times will continue.

Hotheaded NBC chief Bob Greenblatt has threatened to fire anyone he catches leaking the network’s new fall schedule to the media before he announces it at his presentation to advertisers on Monday, sources tell Confidenti@l.

“He’s on a tear,” a network snitch said. “It’s gotten insane.”

Greenblatt, who took over NBC in 2011 after the network’s former golden boy Jeff Zucker left, has been fingered by insiders as the man who finally pushed Jay Leno off the “Tonight” show.

Greenblatt also allegedly was plotting behind the scenes with former “Today” executive producer Jim Bell to oust Ann Curry from her plum job as Matt Lauer’s co-host on the once-top-rated morning show.

“It’s a culture of fear now,” our source — a longtime network veteran — said of the mood at NBC under Greenblatt. “We’ve been through a lot, but it’s never been like this. He’s also a control freak.”
Greenblatt has been deeply involved in minor details that usually would be handled by underlings, leaving his staff confused and frightened.

“He has desperately been trying to undo the damage left behind by Zucker, whose focus was on making money for the network rather than generating big ratings,” the source said. “Jeff left no foundation behind for Bob to build upon.”
